Design By What Matters

Benjamin Moore has come out with a new way for
you to find your dream colors.

Design By What Matters
is an interactive tool to help you become inspired!

You can start by which room you want to design,
your living room, bedroom, kitchen or dining room.
Next you can choose what styles/things inspire you
Who will live in your home,
What your dream view is.

All these will leave you with a custom interior,
judging what matters most to you!

You can add your own image or choose to be surprised

All these questions add up to a beautiful living space!
Designed by what matters to you.

As well as color schemes
you can see what's popular in paint finishes.
Choosing to do a colored ceiling,
using a High Gloss wall finish to add light reflection and glamour,
or choosing two different colors for upper and lower cabinets.

You can select through different schemes
and see what colors work best for you.

Even if it's not what you want to paint,
it can inspire you to get ideas and lead you in the right direction in choosing.

Also very realistic touches are added,
if you chose that you have a dog in your household,
a bone or dog bed will be displayed.
If a child will be running around,
toys or a rocking horse will be around your home.

In the end you can run to your closest Benjamin Moore
and see the color swatches in person!
Also you can share it on Facebook or other social media
And add it to (one of our favorites) Pinterest!

Try it out for yourself

A Fun Summer Project

Sometimes adding extra color into your yard can be difficult. Aside from flowers and garden décor there's not a lot of other choices.

A great project is painting Adirondack chairs!

If you wanted a classic color
or a fun pop of color
 You can choose any color!

We have pint sizes of a product called
Arborcoat
it's a solid stain, so there's no worry of priming the wood
one pint can do one chair
With two quick coats your chairs can be singing a beautiful new tune.

Left: HC-166 Kendall Charcoal
Right: R-9974 Viceroy

2048-40 Poolside Blue

2003-10 Million Dollar Red

New Completed Project

Our newest project has had a couple different revamps

In its original form

It's first paint job

A little piece like this could make a perfect bench for a small entry, you can sit to put on your shoes and has room for a storage basket or a shoe rack.
Or would make a nice end table.
Feeling it needed a new life and with the buzz of chalk paint we got to work!

We made our own DIY chalk paint
and with a little paint and some distressing

This bench has a new (old) look

The curves of the wood seemed almost meant to be distressed

For more information on what we used to make our Chalk Paint,
come visit us in store

*Update - we have now finished the piece with
Howards Citrus Shield Wax in Dark Oak
this has protected the finish, still leaving the rough look
and added a light amber color.

The colors she chose were

HC-172 Revere Pewter
on the picture wall
CC-500 Ranchwood
as the rest of the living room
2112-40 Stone
at the front entrance and pony walls

Bring On The Sunshine

*Door painted in HC-143 Wythe Blue

Soon.... it's coming,

SPRING!

With this winter slowly coming to a close,
it's nice to day dream about green grass and sunshine.

But it's also nice to day dream about
fun colors that remind you of the season to come!

The quickest update to bring into your home is to repaint your front door!
A quart is all you need for a new fresh spring coat.
(coat of paint, hopefully not rain coat)

Inspiration is still hard to find right now
considering the gloomy skies and faded yellow grass.

To help here's some exterior door color ideas

Use 2005-20 Hot Apple Spice
Use 2015-10 Electric Orange
Use 2056-50 Baby Boy Blue
Use 2154-30 Buttercup
Use 2171-10 Navajo Red
Use 2068-30 Scandinavian Blue
Use 2039-20 Emerald Isle
Use 2055-30 Caribbean Blue Water
Use 2007-10 Smoldering Red
Use 2031-10 Neon Lime
Use 2065-30 Brilliant Blue
Use 2023-40 Sunburst

Have your home welcome your guests even before you open the door
